I contacted Esecuritel today, 11/7/2016, after finding charges on my bank account. When I game them my name, they had not information.

They then asked for the first 6 numbers of the card and the last 4 still no information. But they can't cancel it out because they have no record of me, yet they charge me nine dollars a month for cell insurance.

Try to remember any old numbers that you might have had. If you bought your phone at Target, Verizon, etc, perhaps the sales person signed you up.

Do you remember signing an insurance contract? Esec is so anal about this stuff, it's frustrating but yelling won't solve anything (they'll just mute the phone and cuss you out).

I had esh*ESECURIT GA 855-358-**** on my checking statement

It is a scam and someone was stealing $8.53 from me!! That may be why they have no record of you in their system.

And when I called the number it showed up as New Jersey and also it showed up under numerous scam websites. And once I asked why they was taking money out of my account the lady hung up on me.

In 2014 I purchased an Iphone from Target and purchased the esecuritel insurance along with it. Since then I have paid 7.99 a month for the insurance and that totals 191.76. I have been attempting for 4 months to use the insurance. They say they have no record of me, the insurance claims or anything. They do however agree that they are charging my debit card monthly. When I told them I then wanted to end my insurance if they can't even find me in their records to help me they then refused. They told me I have no authority over my account and suddenly it is in someone elses name. I informed them I have all the receipts and there is no other name in which it could be in. The woman on the phone named Mary just laughed at me . I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no, not unless I have an account . Mary refused to give me her associate id. I then called target to inform them that the service they sold me was apparently useless and fraudulent. I am now disputing the charges with my bank. I am also going through the BBB and consumer reports. I suggest everyone else do the same

When Target signed you up, they most likely put it under someone else's name. Maybe a spouse or friend?

Everything that's Inputted from Target's system, is then available on esecuritel system, so the name confusion is most definitely Target's error. The rules of cancelling insurance are ridiculous. I used to work there and one time a customer called but the name was under her little brothers name, so I had to speak to an account holder who was 13 years old to confirm he wanted to cancel his insurance. Ridiculous.

Esecuritel is outsourced to a company called Millennium 1 solutions in Toronto. Maybe you should start bombarding them with complaints.

I sent back an LG G3 when the mic on the inside wasn't working properly. I expected to get a new phone in return. However, the phone I got could barely hold a charge and shut off when it reached about 40%. I figured it was the battery so I called eSecuritel back and mentioned what was going on and that I would like just a new battery. Anyway, the next day I got a new phone again. Tried that, and it was the same thing. So then I figured maybe it was the phone, so I called again and had another new phone sent out and it was the same thing. Eventually I got so fed up that I just paid out my phone and canceled my account with Koodo to go to another phone company within Best Buy. My boyfriend is still with Koodo has the same phone I had. His phone wouldn't hold a charge or charge at all really after trying multiple chargers so he called and had a replacement phone sent. Same thing, phone didn't hold a charge and shut off at around 40%. He is a bit more brave than I am and called back to complain. He asked the lady he was speaking to if the phones we received were refurbished and she confirmed they were. Later on in the conversation when he said he wanted a new phone not a refurbished one as he didn't cause the problems to his current phone, the lady went back on her claim and said she didn't say that the phones were refurbished. In my opinion, this company is a complete and utter mess. Don't even consider going with them, it truly isn't worth your time or money. He then called Koodo and they removed $100 from his tab and after talking to eSecuritel today, they are sending him an LG G4 that is still refurbished, so it will probably have the same problems. Horrible company.

Not worth it – huge deductible, bad customer service

When I signed up for the policy, I was not made aware that there's a deductible of $200 for repairs. Many phone repairs cost less than this, so the policy isn't really worth it. I was able to fix my phone for much less not using the insurance policy. Also, the customer service is terrible. I submitted a claim online, then had to provide an additional notarized claim affidavit. I was told that they received the additional documentation, and would get a follow-up message with more information on how to proceed when the claim was approved. I waited weeks, and heard nothing. I finally called, and was told the claim was approved, but they never notified me. Then, I couldn't proceed because the "find my iPhone" feature was still engaged for the phone, however, I couldn't turn that off without the phone (which was not operational) connected to the WiFi. Ugh. The phone didn't work, it wasn't going to connect to WiFi. I finally gave up, went on my own to get the phone fixed, paid less, and had no problem with the "find my iPhone" feature. Cancelled my policy today, and will be watching my bill to make sure I don't continue to be charged.

Boycott this company

This company makes my blood boil! I wonder how many people have been scammed. I have been a loyal customer and they know how to rob you! They give you the run around and tell you to wait for a confirmation email for when you can call and resolve your claim. After five days of waiting with no phone and no one gets in contact with you. You call back to speak with someone and they pass you to a so called manager. You explain your situation and they will find anything to not cover your claim. Boycott this company I'm telling you they are bad. Spread the word. It's just so wrong

This has to be the worst company i have ever dealt with. Broke my phone so i called for a replacement which was a galaxy s6. They tell me they dont have any in stock and dont know when the phones will be getting there . As a truck driver i dont have time to sit around and wait for a phone. In there policy it says if they dont have your phone they will replace it with a similar or better one but when i asked them about it they said they didnt have any other phones either. The call went nowhere. So they said they would call me in e days . Did not call me i called them . This time he tells me i would be recieving a phone on that friday . It didnt happen . I call them again and its the same story they dont have any phones. They once again said they would call nobody called. After 2 weeks of waiting my new phone shows up but by theni was forced to fix my original phone for 250 , new lcd screen. Now they want me to return my original in there envelope! Forget that . These idiots expect you to be without a phone for two weeks . Rediculous . This service isnt worth the toilet paper i wipe myself with. Nothing but a scam

I used to work there. Your provider has a facility with the refurbished phones, so if they were out of stock, they're out of stock. Consider yourself lucky because the "like or comparable phone" might be a IPhone 5 or some other phone that is obviously not comparable to S6

These are all refurbished phones coming are way. Not nearly worth the actual replacement cost. Think about it, I ended up having to fix my phone myself for 250 and they have the nerve to ask for my phone? I'm not going to send them a now perfectly working phone .

I'm not going to be continuing my subscription with these people. To slow,unorganized,and don't measure up to what they promise when the carrier puts up there sales pitch. I believe after reading all these horror reviews on here that my claim is justified, this obviously is not an isolated incident with e securitel. I stand behind my claim that this service is worthless.

Would not recommend it. They have no problem taking your money but when you want a service from them boy you gotta fight . But yes thanks for your clarification on the comparable phone being worse, I didn't know that.

My carrier was telling me that the comparable phone was supposed to be better. I guess it's just another scam who knows.

Made a claim August 22nd Sept 26 still making me jump through hoops. The website says make a claim in 3 easy steps but these guys are so crooked. I sent a PDF of my claim 3 different times and once through my service provider it always says illegible. Why can't you read a PDF document? should I make my claim in Sanskrit? They made me add myself as a user and get the claim notarized. Now they want the administrator to file and notarize the claim for me. Why make me add myself as a user when you are not even going to accept my claim? It's a company phone. Also they do not call back. *** scam artists. The guy that reviews the claim is from head office. They do not call the customer. Instead you have to chase them and call customer services who in return do not know why the guys upstairs did not approve it. And they can't even call and ask either. *** job working in Customer Services when your bosses are either crooked or do not know how to run a company. I think it's both.

Cancelled insurance but still continued to withdraw from my account

July 2016 i cancelled my eSecuritel insurance with them. my phone was damaged and when i called them because i had insurance it was crazy. There was a surcharge to get another phone. After not understanding why it was so expensive, i requested to cancel my insurance. She hung up on me. i assumed since she had all the information in front of her , she would of cancelled it. BUT looking at my bank statements, they have been withdrawing all along. i called in October 2016 and spoke to another agent , he said it was never cancelled . he would only refund my October charge and not the others since the cancellation was not complete. It wasn't completed because she hung up on me. And today i asked to speak with someone higher on the phone. He said to go on the website and HUNG UP.I AM ALSO GOING TO CONTACT SOMEONE AT CORPORATE (TARGET STORE) TO HAVE YOUR COMPANY REMOVED FROM THEIR STORES AND THAT THEIR HAS BEEN MANY MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH ESECURITEL

Were you cussing? That's probably why they hung up on you.

Target is not going to stop their relationship with esecuritel.

Target reps get their sales from having customers sign away their life without reading the fine print. They don't care about you, sadly.

Sometimes target reps use fake temporary numbers and your credit card to register the insurance. You need to provide all possible numbers you may have to locate those accounts.

Terrible!!! Had warranty for my samsung s6 that i cancelled right away and then i bought a 7 plus recently, bought warranty again just because of the money i paid for the phone, woke up this morning with an over $60 esecuritel charge on my Credit card! Called them and the lady i spoke to said they backtracked my payment from my old device in order to get this one going for my 7 plus and there was never a note that i cancelled my s6 warranty nor informed me about the backtrack payment!! I said if they cant fix it il just go ahead and cancel and the lady i spoke to just went ahead and cancelled my account, and now theyre only giving me a refund for this month's warranty and the rest has to be escalated and I have to follow up myself within a few days. Very bad experience will never ever deal with esecuritel ever again nor recommend to people that i know

Poor customer service

I cancelled the insurance when the original phone I purchased from Target was defective. They still take money from my account! left me on hold for over 45 minutes when I called to complain. I wanted them to credit the amount back to my account, the customer service person was talking so fast- could be a tactic to drown my complaints. I cancelled the insurance when the original phone I purchased from Target was defective. They cancel the insurance based on phone numbers. Do you have more than one number? If so, make sure you give them that number too.

My husband got his phone wet & had it replaced no problem. However, the new phone must have been a refurbished one because it had some technical issues. Esecuritel gave us the run around for a while about replacing it. My husband worked around it for almost a year, but it just kept getting worse. Eventually, he couldn't take the mounting issues & we contacted esecuritel again about the issues. They had numerous excuses, that kept changing, for not accepting the claim. I had to get intouch with their corporate office & get very testy before they would process a clai. However, they wouldn't replace it unless we paid the deductible AGAIN. We decided to go ahead since it seemed to be the only option. Then we received a partial premium refund in teh mail. We called to find out that they cancelled my husbands coverage for 2 claims in 12 months. They sent the refurbished/defective phone!!!!! HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!!!!!

I decided to get this insurance when I bought my new iPhone 6s at target and April 2016. It'll late August 2016 I had to make a claim on my phone got water damage.

The initial claim process was OK, but they sent me a defective phone. I immediately followed the instructions regarding replacing the defective phone, but was met with constant hurtles. They gave me a claim form which had to be notarized, which was easy for me because there's a notary in my office. However just seems like it was intended to make things difficult for return.

I got the claim form, had it notarized and faxed and within five minutes. But then, I got an email that the form had been rejected because it was "" illegible.

after several failed attempts of trying to get the defective phone they sent me replaced, I just bought a new iPhone and canceled their service. Do not go with this company, it's terrible.

They are so unorganized. Always took the money on time, but when I needed replacement, they sent a dirty used phone, that was the wrong model, and charged 200. We sent it back, cancelled plan, and have called back 6 times, still no refund. On the 4th call they accused us of sending the 'old' phone to them. Had NO IDEA what phone they sent. We emailed thE SERIAL numbers on my original phone, then called in and they couldn't find the email even though they send a confirmation # via email. STILL WAITING FOR REFUND OVER A MONTH!!! BUNCH OF HACKS, DONT DO IT

The call centre is in Toronto and Ottawa. Head office is in Georgia, so you might want to find a GA number and call them.

Or call the call centre, right away ask to speak to supervisor, then ask the supervisor to escalate your request to head office. The supervisors are not really supervisors that have any pull.

They actually have to consult with the head office in GA about refunds. DO NOT THREATEN LEGAL ACTION, they will disconnect the call if you do.
